november is…

“Everywhere in nature we are taught the lessons of patience and waiting. We want things a long time before we get them, and the fact that we want them a long time makes them all the more precious when they come.”
~Joseph F. Smith~

Just put both my kids down to bed…

We had a long, hard day…puke, poop, accidents, bloody nose, teething, etc….

Yet, tonight I couldn’t help but hold my kids a little bit longer and tighter and stare into their sweet little eyes…feeling so thankful that I have been given the blessing of being a mother. The were many hard years I didn’t think it would happen to me…years were I had given up…years my heart ached for children…years I felt so alone. Now, I look at my kids and sometimes cannot believe the miracles they are to me. I look at them and realize they are direct answer to my prayers. They simply are amazing! I am so thankful I didn’t give up…and learned to trust in the Lord. I am so, so thankful for our beautiful birthmothers and birthfamilies…and for their amazing strength and testimonies. They have taught me so much. When things are tough I think of them often and remember that I can do hard things. Adoption is not easy…not for either side, but it is the most amazing thing at the same time. I wouldn’t change my adoption experiences for anything. All those hard years….all the tears and all the hurt and feeling so alone…it was all well worth it. I love my Abby and Boston more than anything…and couldn’t be more thrilled that they are mine for eternity!

{pumpkin cookies}  Can’t keep track of how many times Abby and I have made these over the past month. Had to whip up a batch for our dad today…they are his favorite! (you can get the recipe on my recipe tab)

{book club}  Also, thinking of joining a book club…gasp, I know! Never been in a book club before…never seems to fit into my life…this one seems like it might be just what I’ve been looking for.

{christmas shopping}  Getting excited for the holidays…I’m close to having all my Christmas shopping done! That’s right…my goal is to have it all done by 12.01. Then I can truly relax, not stress and enjoy the season. Finishing up my christmas cards this week too…oh it feels soooo good!
